DAR ES SALAAM, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Tanzanian authorities said on Wednesday that they are taking steps to resolve land conflicts between the Tanzania People's Defence Force and citizens.

Minister for Defense and National Service Innocent Bashungwa said the government was surveying all land owned by the army and providing the army with title deeds.

"This exercise is aimed at resolving the persisting land conflicts between the army and citizens in some parts of the country," Bashungwa told the House in the national capital of Dodoma when he presented his ministry's budget estimates for the 2023/2024 financial year.

He added that the government has finished demarcating more than two-thirds of the land belonging to the army.
